Donkey Kong™ ain't got nothin' on Rachel! GAME OVER!

Here is What Is It Friday? #41

Anna opened a doorway this week to a win.

When I took the above picture, I couldn't get this song out of my head. (R.I.P. Dimebag)

Tron ain't got nothin' on these deadly discs...

You heard it here first... Joseph Kosinski, who directed the Gears of War "Mad World" commercial as well as the Halo 3 "Starry Night" commercial AND the latest Hummer commercial will be working on two simultaneous projects! A remake of Logan's Run due out in 2010... and a remake of TRON also due in 2010.

Although the info for TRON is sparse, there was an article in Creativity... an industry trade magazine, linking him to the project.

The meat-a-balls...

I used:
A pound and a half of ground beef
2 eggs
Diced onion
2 cloves of crushed garlic
3 pieces of toast soaked in milk and crumbled
2 cups of seasoned breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper
Italian seasoning
Mozzarella, cubed

Mix all ingredients except the mozzarella in a bowl. Form meatballs and push a cube of mozzarella into the center of each, closing up the hole. Use "Pam" or other spray oil to lightly coat the bottom of a baking dish. Place meatballs in baking dish and bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes.

Dinner for two...

I said I would... so...

Here are the veggies in the oil.

Breadcrumbs...

...carefully roasted in a skillet.

The finished meal... before I finished it.

And, yes... that is mozzarella oozing from the center of the meatball.

Oh, that carnival squash tasted fantastic with a little brown sugar and turmeric.

Belated one year...

Oh my... My one year blog anniversary passed on August 31st... and I didn't even realize it!

My "daily" "photo" posting journey began on March 1st 2007... hopefully I'll celebrate in 2008.

Carnival squash...

I saw this in the produce aisle.

Tomorrow, I will split it in half and bake it at 350° F for 40 minutes.

It will compliment my vegetable Aglio Et Olio dinner.

Aglio Et Olio is a garlic and oil topping for pasta. Heat a few tablespoons of olive oil (virgin if your taste buds can handle it) in a deep pan or wok and add garlic (I use 5-6 cloves sliced in halves.) That with some salted water is pretty much it... but I add red pepper, zucchini and yellow squash to the oil and cover so that it keeps the moisture in.

While this is simmering I boil the water for the pasta. Add some oil to the water so the pasta won't stick together. Once boiling, add salt and take two or three ladles of the salted water and put it in with the vegetables in the wok. You can add a little salt, pepper or Italian seasoning to taste but it really isn't necessary.

Cook the pasta so it is al dente (firm but not hard.) While this is cooking put some breadcrumbs in a skillet over low to medium heat and sauté till golden brown (they can burn quickly so keep an eye on 'em.)

Strain the pasta and cover with the vegetable Aglio Et Olio. Sprinkle the roasted breadcrumbs on top and top with parmigiano reggiano.

I'll try to remember to take a picture of the finished meal... well, before I finish it ;)

When a child is lost...

I saw this on a stroll through a cemetery. The loss of a child has to be the hardest thing for a parent to live through.

What do those things do?...

The term "resonators" comes to mind... but that's not right.

And a detail of the above picture.

Hey boy, hey girl...

Ok, so I got on an electrical kick...

Just before sunset with the sun to my back.

I think I got some cool pictures for the next week or so. Let me know what you think.

And this bird you can not change...

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.

But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.
Lord knows, I can't change.

Reserve yours NOW!...

ROFLMAO!

Get 'em while they're hot!

Saw this and had to toss the link out there.

Step into my lair...

...said the spider to the fly.

This was not a set up shot. And the fly flew away after I took the shot. Them two must have been called to a "sit down" to discuss their differences.

8 weeks...

Most of the pups are in their new homes by now. One is even living with her three year old half sister. I really think she knew right away that the new pup was a relative. She probably smelled her mama on the pup because she wagged her tail, groomed the new puppy and played with her right away :)

Stalkin' like a BC should...

I have a filthy mouth...

First mistake...

Laying on the floor while five pups decide that you are as just good as a squeaky toy. As they bit at my ears and beard they were overjoyed to hear me yell "ouch!" and continued to bite me.

Pictures courtesy of wife of b13.

There were kisses too...Ok, it was fun.

Sexual?...

Why would you say that?

'chele busted that nut last week. ;)

Here is What Is It Friday? #38

'chele gets two in a row! This is a circular puppy trow. The pups line up in a circle around the bowl for food or water :) Reminds me of a giant nipple.
