Is it art?...

Over the past week I have posted some selections that interested me during my visit to the MoMA. Other pieces boggled my mind... A solid black canvas... an empty shoebox, placed against a wall... string... bricks... yogurt lids (don't ask)...

So I offer you the following image...

...and I ask you, "Is it art?"

Please leave a comment.

I have no formal training, but it looks like a crack in a wall, so I will say no.

No.

Whoever "created" that stuff excels in the art of salesmanship.

I'd like to hire one of them to rep me.

Since pretty much anything can be art, yes, it might be art. However, I think the urge to get away from "that's been done" has caused some people to be ridiculous about things they claim as art.

My take on it is simple. Give me some spackle, a putty knife and a piece of drywall tape, and I'll fix that "art" for them.

If it is there's a couple of this in my house so I guess I don't need to hang anything else. ;)
