Here is the last day that I will be featuring some photos from a recent visit to an art exhibit on Long Island. I hope you enjoy the shots.
Charles Gick: The human relationship with earth’s environment is a tenuous one. So says the artist! With an installed cracked-earth floor, one end of the room has a wall of embedded spoons filled with dirt. The opposite wall contrasts this with a video monitor with a looping image of a brilliant blue sky and a cottony cloud. A human finger pokes and prods the cloud, thoughtlessly pushing aside the only hope in sight for much needed rain.

This looks like it was a terrific show. Cracked earth is gorgeous, and I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
