What the?...

I see these often during the summers on Long Island.


But are they flying ants? Or flies that LOOK like ants?

Revenge of the revenge of the fly...

Although they make me think of filth...


...I can't help but love everything about these compound-eyed, sticky-footed, regurgitating, long haired, maggot creating insects.

Fly-bee-thing...

It hovered in place.


It darted about.


It buzzed LOUDLY!


Then a female appeared with what looked like honey on her back...


And he must have liked it... because he mated in an instant.

Revenge of the fly...

I spy up in the sky... something black...

Of spiders and fly...

This little feller moved quickly, flattened out to the ground and blended in to its surroundings quite well.


Sometimes, flies don't let you get this close. This little bugger was quite friendly.


This spider was quite small. That rope may have been a quarter inch thick.


He snuck up on me. He is quite the chameleon.

The last supper...

Will fall is full swing and winter quickly approaching, this big red arachnid may have found his final meal snared in it's web.

Well, DUH!...


Here's a desktop ladybug to eat all those other bad bugs on your computer.

Whatever it is I stunned it...
then I shot it...
and then I released it.



Freaky little bugger.

This was not a set up shot. And the fly flew away after I took the shot. Them two must have been called to a "sit down" to discuss their differences.
