Fly-bee-thing...

It hovered in place.

It darted about.

It buzzed LOUDLY!

Then a female appeared with what looked like honey on her back...

And he must have liked it... because he mated in an instant.

I'm bringing it back...

"Dude, check out that car! It's MINT!
"I heard a new Indy flick is in the works. MINT!
"What do ya think about those chicks we met the other night?
Pretty MINT!

Click above for a minty green desktop.

Oops... no one caught my error. The above is actually raspberry... big oops.

A new life for next spring...

I don't mind snow... but it's cold outside. No, wait. It's F****ING FRIGID outside!!! I can feel the cold coming through the insulated walls of my house. The dogs ask to go out, take a step outside and turn around with a look on their faces that states "ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME?" Devon is at a point where she sees me approaching the back door and she slowly steps backwards with her ears lowered.

I needed to pull this shot from a hike I took a few weeks ago. It reminds me of a warmer time where you could actually FEEL the sun on your face. And it foreshadows a coming spring with new green grass scrunching below bare feet.

If Jack Frost wants to keep nipping at my nose he better toss some snow my way. Otherwise I want some warmth for a weekend photo-hike.

Mantis baby... Camera Critters...

These summer nights bring all sorts of wildlife to my front door... there has been a cacophony of different insects visiting.

When I first approached, I thought it was a freaky looking male mosquito.

Upon closer inspection I saw the pincers and noticed a molted shell nearby.

Here is a desktop sized head to look at what you are doing on your computer.

Same wood floor and it's red... but it is a different game piece than the one I posted the other day. And this one is desktop sized as well.

I don't know about you, but I'm itchin' in anticipation for Anna's next project.

A little late for project red...

Before Project Yellow, Anna started Project Red.
Better late than never, eh?

I'll have a few red's this week and if she has a new project I'll try to double up the shots. I'm also going to try to get in on Camera Critters on Sundays. This is getting to be a busy hobby :)

Oh, and this is a desktop image... so click for a full size you can download and use :)

You're gonna' wanna' click us both...

And you may wish that you have an extremely large screen...

My friend's pooches were so sleepy that they let me get really close to play with my macro lens. I have to see what these look like if I print them poster sized.

Fuzzy little bugger...

These things are freaky enough as the little creatures they are. Could you imaging if they grew to twice the size of man or larger? Forget moles... what if you had to fend off one of these guys to get some tomatoes from your garden?

Now someones going to steal my idea and in a few weeks time a "B" movie will be out...
"You thought it was safe to go in your garden... Night of the caterpillars!!!"

A rolling stone...

A rolling stone gathers no moss. But a stationary rock does! And what wonderful textures it creates.

It reminds me of a lush jungle seen from above.
