Thanks...
On this day, I thank God for all that I have. A wonderful family, a loving wife, three great dogs and a bunch that have their own loving owners. I thank God for the roof over my head. I thank God for my job and my health.
Most of all I thank all the men and women that are serving this country so that we can be safe with our families on this Thanksgiving. God bless each and every one of them.

California... Day 5... Part 1 of 2...
On our last day of shows Chance was looking as regal as ever.

After the show... Cayenne asked her older brother if they should play "bitey-face".

And Chance decided they shall. This went on for a good ten minutes.

In case I confused anyone, we call Chance "the wag" and "Waggy" because his tail goes "flip-flip-flip-flip-flip" when he is happy.
Wag and his cousin Phoebe used the fountain for a family photo op.

And Wag's younger sister, Cayenne, figured it was a nice shot... so why not :)

Although the sky was gray by the show grounds, it was beautiful just forty minutes away at Huntington Beach.

This beach is famous for its surf and the competitions that are held here. I had no idea how close to the shore the drilling rigs were.

The pier is a main attraction but the Wag was not welcomed by local police. When will they realize that if my dogs are not welcome then my money must not be welcome either?

Click the below image for a panorama of the main strip. The red curb on the right and left ar connected and that road stretches along the shore.

Ok, what would a vacation be without food? We had fantastic burritos and margaritas. I finally got to eat at both Jack-in-the-Box and In-Out burger. JITB was delicious and IO was on par with Long Island's very own All American.
But we took a chance (no pun intended) and tried Papa Joe's Pizza. You have to remember that I'm from NY and I love my NY pizza... but, it was actually quite good! And not only did I like it...

But my wife liked it...

And so did the Wag!

Remember... where I go, my dog goes... and if you say no, I'll spend my ducketts elsewhere. The trip rounds out tomorrow. See you then...

A Beautiful Day... of my own...
This past week MCF posted a bunch of pictures from one of his great outings on our little island. In the past we have explored together and had similarities if not downright identical photos. My little experiment was to go to a site he previously visited to see what I would find and how I would interpret the local through my lens. I also wanted to try out my new InfraRed filter (which I need to practice with). Long shutter speeds are needed so any movement is blurred. Enjoy the comparisons.
Oh, and lately youtube has been sucking. It keeps failing short 13 second clips although the same format went through previously without any problems.
View from the top.

"Now everyone say GARBAGE!"

Reflecting on the present.

Two versions of the same subject at different speeds. The first is a slower shutter with more light entering.

A "Flutter By"

NYC from the middle of LI.

IR photo experiment.

Life & Death.

Poli Nation

This was taken from about 30 feet up. There were thousands of fish along the shore. Minnows. But the video keeps failing the processing on youtube.
See that little dot just right of center?

That's him.

Another "Flutter By"

"AHHHHHH, I love the cool wind blowing through my feathers!"

Woah! Déjávu! Kind of...

And those darned guineas are in town...

That there is one fowl guinea! Click it to see the biggest mess since the platypus.
