I have to admit... He was actually the first one in. Brave little kid!

All joking aside. These are the lingerers. They hung out in the water and splashed around for a while and then it got too cold for me (and I was in a coat and hat)!

Just kidding to all. What these people did was for a great cause and quite a bit of cash was raised for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. Tomorrow you'll see the remaining shots from the event and a few loony stragglers that must take cold showers all year to prepare for the plunge.

The crowd began to gather just before 1:30 in the afternoon.

One thing that I learned early in life is if you don't look left, some f***er on a bike will broadside you while your looking right. Now, it ain't a bike, but I'm sure this seagull is going to learn a similar lesson...
