We never had junk like this when we were growing up. I think we rigged up a "slide" from the dumpster in a neighbors yard while he did renovations once. Other than the nails it was quite fun. I loved the late 70's and 80's :)

We also didn't have a kid's movie coming out more than once a year...nor the special effects that really rock these kids.
Our "slide" wasn't even outside. It consisted of the set of stairs going to the basement and a folded sleeping bag. It sounded like...ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow :-)

Ouch!!
I remember "sliding" down a wooden slide at a park - got a splinter the size of a pencil in my . . .well it was painful to say the least, and I never did that again!!!
We didn't have lots of things they have these days. I would have loved this when I was a kid!
