In stitches...
Took six pictures and manually connected them. No stitching software here. No tripod either. You can tell by the slight discoloration but I did what I could as a quick experiment.

In light of the quick win by Wendy I decided to add another today.
Here is What Is It Friday? #18
That "fun-gal" Rachel guessed "fun-guy" correctly with mushrooms (fungi)! These were tiny. If my father was still around I would have checked if they were edible or not. I miss his wild mushroom salad.

what to do about peppers...
My cube neighbor brought a pepper plant to work and it took up residency in my window. It blooms but then the flowers die and new ones open. However, no peppers are forming. I'm assuming that pollination needs to take place in order for the "fruit" to form and we have a lack of bees, butterflies, humming birds, and lady bugs on my sill. Enlighten me if I am right or wrong. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Ok, it was a setup shot. Funny thing though was the passenger in the Verizon truck yelled "DICK!" as they were driving by and it had a doppler effect. So it was like...

MCF's Perilous! is a quiz in reverse. He posts ten answers. You get one week to come up with the corresponding questions and post them on your blogs, leaving a link to your post in the comments section of his blog. Next week, he'll reveal the questions he was thinking of, along with everyone's scores.

Baby's breath...
Losing a child must be the worst thing in life to live through. A friend of mine lost his grandson yesterday. He went to sleep but didn't wake up. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during these turbulent times.

An emptyness that I now feel,

Six years...
It's been six years since my father passed. Not a day goes by where I don't think of him in one way or another. I vividly remember the good times and the bad. The bad were usually caused by my arrogance and young stupidity. There are days where I feel like I can call mom's house and he'll pick up the phone, say hello, and ask if I need any vegetables from the garden. I miss you dad. I miss you a lot.

Inch by inch by inch by etc....
Back in 1969, Eric Carle wasn't joking about The Very Hungry Caterpillar. These little buggers eat fast and a lot!
My wife planted some bulbs in our yard and they are growing qrite rappidly. They are also atracting a bit of a feeding frenzy. I hope they bloom before being devoured. If so I'll get some pictures :) In the mealtime... I mean, meantime...

A rose is a rose is a rose...
Today I did a little experiment with color and hue and the lack thereof.
First I shot a rose at night with a flash... which blasted it full of light and made this red rose seem magenta.
Here is an illustrated, almost cartoonish (is this a word?) look. Saturation was maxed and lightness was dropped to knock out the background.
When saturation is dropped to minimal and lightness is increased you get an image that looks similar... but not quite like it was taken with an infrared filter. Some other examples as well. I really need to get me one of these lenses.
The last three are hue adjustments to get roses of a different color.
