Emergence...

Stepping out of my office, the cool night air embraced be. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath while tilting my head back. Opening my eyes revealed a moon that seemed to be emerging from the darkness.

This was shot hand held at 1/60 of a second at ISO 200 at 200mm. I'll have to do this again with a tripod and a longer exposure.

It's also making me want to get that 300mm lens THAT MUCH MORE!

Your new camera is just ridiculous. It wasn't enough when you were catching pilots in the cockpits of fighter jets, but now you can zoom in on craters. Ridiculous. :)

Was there a lunar eclipse last Sunday btw? When I was driving home, I saw the moon black out for a bit but it looked like dark clouds swallowed it. I could have used a (good) camera then.

What's the new camera????!!!!!

Beautiful shot...and I enjoyed your observation. It was a vivid moment and I could feel that cold air and then that beautiful moment when you opened your eyes to the moon.

I got a Nikon D80 with an 18-200mm lens :D as an upgrade to the 8800.

Awesome photo without tripod OR slow exposure.

I know that was not an easy shot to get.
