Amaryllis bloom...

After a few weeks of the stalk getting ever so tall and rotations of the box it is planted in to straighten the plant from bending toward the window to reach for the sunlight our office amaryllis has bloomed! And what a beauty it is.









I have posted desktop images in the past and formatted them at 1024x768 pixels to accommodate standard monitors. Tonights images will fit on those screens also but are formatted for wide screen monitors. Click the first three images for 1152x768 pixel images.

I took this shot of my schipperke and his eye reminded me of the green "X" on my xbox 360.



Then I realized that this would be my 360th consecutive day of posting! (Almost a year!)

And 360 also means full circle!

I've been taking advantage of the nice weather and taking strolls or drives during lunch. I found this fellow keeping tabs on the passing traffic.

At the Garden...

For the weekend leading up to the Westminster Dog Show we were asked to bring one of our dogs to a judges seminar as a demo dog. While there I came across a stunning Bedlington Terrier...





And could only think of one thing...

Well the kids are all hopped up and ready to go

I did learn that these dogs are born either blue, sandy, liver (as this dog is), blue and tan, sandy and tan, or liver and tan. They are born darker and their coats lighten as they get older. I found that to be quite interesting.

Six weeks...

Took a ride to Jersey today to see my boys' pups. They are six weeks old and will be going to their homes soon. Papa is proud and came along to see his offspring.

Emergence...

Stepping out of my office, the cool night air embraced be. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath while tilting my head back. Opening my eyes revealed a moon that seemed to be emerging from the darkness.



This was shot hand held at 1/60 of a second at ISO 200 at 200mm. I'll have to do this again with a tripod and a longer exposure.

It's also making me want to get that 300mm lens THAT MUCH MORE!

Strength...reach...drive...POUNCE!

I had always looked at dogs on a mush-ability scale. I never thought about build, genetics, angulation, drive... My wife points these things out to me and may ask "Did you see the top-line on that dog?" And I nod and say "Uh-huh." Then I think about how fun it would be to roll around and mush its face. :)

One of the greatest things I saw at Cedar Beach was this dog playing frisbee with two girls. He leapt and ran and pounced on his toy; tail wagging the whole time. True happiness on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon with his two best friends.

Caught in a pinch...

I took a walk with my wife on Cedar Beach (North shore of Long Island) and got some great shots that I'll share over the next few days. Enjoy :)
