This little guy fella'...

As my uncle would say... "Thisa' little guy fella' outa' the treea'!"

My three dogs found him in the yard and he's been hanging around the base of my tree since the morning. He'll climb halfway up and then make his way down again. The adults have come down to investigate but don't seem to help him.

My wife put an x-pen around the tree to keep him from wandering and the dogs from getting him. I put a bowl of granola out and some water near the base and was greeted by baby squeels. The parents noticed that but still would not help.

I hope he finds his way up and I hope he's not too cold :(

Awww. We have 2 or 3 babies living inside the knot of our neighbors tree; I can see them crawling over each other. Mama Squirrel comes down to our bird feeder as usual. I'm going to try and get some pics of our l'il tykes tomorrow morning.

Good looking out with the fence and food and water. Hopefully he won't pick up your scent, and eventually get strong enough to climb back to the fam.

Yeah, going to check on him now... Hope no cats are around :(

he was curled up in a ball at 1 am and this morning he was outside of the gate. Now I have to worry that he'll get to the dogs if I have them in the yard.

My grandfather once rescued a baby squirrel, so small it had to be eye-dropper fed. It lived, too ... and came and went as it pleased. It was very friendly and liked to perch on human shoulders and eat nuts and toast and stuff. Eventually it decided that it liked being a wild squirrel more than being a tame squirrel and it left and never came back. I wish the best for your little guy, too.

I called the wife and she said he seems to have moved on. I hope he found his way back up the tree.

Trust me, I would love a pet squirrel... I even said how cool it would be to see him riding around on my collie's back. Alas... my schipperke would shred it (they are ratters by nature) But he is cute. Maybe when he's older he'll remember the strange man that left a puppy bowl full of granola and some water.

I hope he does remember the strange man who left him some nice food!! I'm sure he'll sit around in a hole in a tree when he's an old squirrel and tell it to his grand squirrels!!! :)

He's SO cute!!
I hope he enjoys the granola.
He looks old enough that he may be able to survive on his own if he can avoid any cats.
I hope he made it back up the tree to his good for nothing kinfolk. :)
