Researchers have found that it may have originated much earlier than that.
When little was known about this virus I lost a cousin to it. He is dearly missed by all in my family. A red ribbon supports research. Below is some red from me.

I think I first heard about it on a Very Special Episode of Mr. Belvedere when Wesley comes home from school and asks what it was. Even then I got all my information from television.
